Alaska Sedges Workshop

Tony Reznicek Workshop on the Cyperaceae of Alaska
Anchorage and Fairbanks Summer 2003

During the summer of 2003 a series of three-day Alaska sedge identification workshops were sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Alaska Coastal Program.

The classes were taught by Dr. Tony Reznicek, authority on new world Cyperaceae, curator of the University of Michigan Herbarium, and co-editor/author of the Flora North America Volume 23 Cyperaceae.

Tony has very generously agreed to post his keys and conspectus from the workshop here. Please contact Dr. Reznicek with any questions or comments regarding these documents or Alaska sedges.

In addition, thanks go to Rick Turner of the U.S. Forest Service, who has made a series of photos of sedge material available from the workshop. Additional images of Alaska sedges are also available online at the PLANTS database.
