The Alaska Natural Heritage Program and other AKEPIC collaborators have developed a variety of non-native plant identification materials.
Species biographies are available for close to 200 non-native plants in or likely to occur in Alaska. They can be downloaded from the Non-Native Plant Species List. A guide for the identification of commonly occurring non-native plants in Alaska can be downloaded here, as well as from the AKEPIC publication page. Links to agencies and organizations that provide online information to assist with non-native plant identification are provided under Other Resources.
Additionally, the Alaska Natural Heritage Program provides weed identification workshops on request. For more information on the length, format, and contents of these workshops please contact us.
