The Alaska Natural Heritage Program as a NatureServe member supports the mission to provide scientific basis for effective conservation in Alaska. We collect, validate, and distribute this information to the public. AKNHP resides within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Our program is primarily grant funded with additional support provided by the University of Alaska Anchorage. We rely on data and funding from state and federal agencies and citizens to manage and serve our species data to the public.
