Birds Tracking Lists and Status Reports

Approximately 478 species of birds are known to occur in Alaska (Bird Checklist of Alaska Birds, University of Alaska Museum, 2006). Due to the large list of bird species, the AKNHP Bird tracking list is divided into a web page for each order. Subspecies that are not ranked and unsubstantiated birds in Alaska are not included. This list includes order, family, scientific name, common name, NatureServe G and S Ranks and listing status by agency. Within the list are links to individual species status reports (underlined), NatureServe species accounts, range maps and metadata.
